May 24th, 2022, at 1:00 PM EDT.
How was the winner selected?
We used a custom Python script which was specifically programmed for this giveaway. It used the Twitter Public API to download a list of everyone who retweeted the giveaway tweet.
From this pool of eligible users, a random entry was picked using a randomly generated seed based on the NumPy project. Once we'd verified that the resulting pick followed both accounts, they won.
How did you announce the winner?
Once we had established contact via Twitter DM with the winner and confirmed their shipping details, we posted their Twitter handle on this page.
How will the Steam Deck be shipped?
The Steam Deck will be shipped via FedEx with tracking.
If I won, will I need to pay anything to receive the prize (shipping costs, duties, taxes, etc.)?
Of course not. Everything is paid for by dbrand.
If I won, do I need to do anything once I receive the device?
